She has five specialty credentials including Registered Dietitian Nutritionist; Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (NC); Licensed Dietitian (SC); Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management; Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. She is even CPR certified.

She specializes in the following areas of Nutrition for both Adults (ages 18+) and Pediatrics (ages 2-18): Weight Management, Diabetes (Pre-Diabetes, Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, and Gestational Diabetes), Hypertension / Elevated Blood Pressure, Elevated Cholesterol / Hyperlipidemia, Pregnancy, CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease), Vitamin and Mineral Deficiencies (ex.Iron Deficiency Anemia, Vitamin D Deficiency, Vit B12 Deficiency), Food Intolerances, Food Allergies, Menopause, Hypothyroidism / Hyperthyroidism, GI issues (Constipation, Diarrhea, IBS, IBD, Crohn’s, Celiac, Gastroparesis, GERD / reflux, FODMAP, as well as bloating and gas), h/o Gastric Bypass Surgery, Meal Prepping and Planning for Healthy Eating, Picky Eaters.

Sharon was born and raised in Eastern NC. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a Master of Science in Nutrition degrees from East Carolina University. She has over 20 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist providing MNT (Medical Nutrition Therapy) and over 15 years of experience as a CDCES (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist). Sharon is married, has two children, and has three dogs. During her free time she enjoys traveling, gardening, riding bikes, walking, swimming, and mostly spending time with her family. She is also a part of the Greeting team at Covenant Church; a Committee member (Treasurer) of Cub Scout Pack 9; a Committee member of the local ADCES of ENC; and a Staff member of Camp Needles in the Pines each summer (Camp for children with Type 1 Diabetes).

Sharon is always there to help her patients (even between visits, via email or phone call)s. She will be your biggest cheerleader and always support her patients to reach their goals.

Sharon is available for both face-to-face Nutrition visits as well as Virtual Nutrition visits (follow-up visits only).
