Dr. David Edwards - Physical Therapists & Co-owner

Dr. David Edwards, Physical Therapist and co-owner of Kinetic Physical Therapy & Wellness, hails from Smithfield, NC. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Marketing from Barton College, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from East Carolina University. Subsequently, he earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Simmons University.
A member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Dr. David Edwards was selected to serve in several leadership positions, including District Secretary, Treasurer, Chair, and Fundraising Chair. His leadership skills have earned him the honor of serving as Chapter President, Chapter Treasurer, and more. He currently serves as the Secretary-Treasurer of the NC Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
A respected businessman as well as doctor, Dr. David Edwards has been an active member of the Pitt County Chamber of Commerce, and he served on its Board of Directors and the Issue Committee from 2016-19. Dr. Edwards is Vice President of Mercey Ventures, LLC and owner of New Orleans Ventures, LLC.
Known for his love of animals, Dr. David Edwards served on the NCSU School of Veterinary Medicine Foundation from 2018-21 and co-founded Beare Garden Animal Rescue, also leading as its Vice President.
A noted speaker, Dr. David Edwards has provided informative talks on recognition, reduction, and prevention of both elder abuse and animal abuse to many university and community groups. Outside of the practice, Dr. Edwards is an animal rescue advocate. He also enjoys traveling and painting.
